Spark Student Motivation Saturday: Super Prize Board

It's Saturday....let's get each other motivated! What are you motivated to try next year or what motivates your students? It can be ANYTHING that motivates you or your students!

I made this "Super" Prize Board last summer {inspired by Pinterest} and it's used as an incentive, visual reminder, and decoration all in one!

Students sign the prize board when I see them setting an excellent example, getting right to work when we enter the room, sharing, helping others, etc. They never know when I'm going to call the numbers...sometimes I call them everyday even if there's empty spaces, sometimes I wait til the entire board is filled, sometimes on Fridays. (If I call numbers when spaces are empty, I let them know I will call 3 numbers (any number I choose), if there's no name on the space, no one wins). I have miscellaneous prizes and junk :O) in a tub for them to choose from if they are called.
*Best story: You know the sample pictures you get from the school pictures? After school I had a few kids helping me and I asked one of my boys to put it in the prize box as a joke. I didn't know, but he hid it under all the other stuff so no one would take it. I called his name a few days later and he ran to retrieve his "prize". He said it's on his refrigerator at home! LOL!
I used a 1/2 sheet of poster board and laminated. My students use dry erase markers to write their names. I have my Super Prize Board hanging on my erase board with magnets in the front of my room so it's a great reminder for me to use it too!
