Happy Saturday! Spark Student Motivation is a place to link up ideas, tips, tricks, lessons, incentives, ANYTHING that motivates your students. If you haven't gone back to school yet, what are you planning that first week of school that will motivate your students? I'd love for you to share your ideas!
My students start Monday, but they came for "Meet the Teacher" yesterday. I like to have a little "goodie" when they come to our classroom. This year I had a set of "Welcome Back to School" coupons waiting for their arrival. I like this idea because it was easy, didn't cost me a thing, and my students knew I cared about them coming to meet me! I have them laid on their desks, so with a quick scan I can also see who didn't show and I can collect all the handouts and place them on those desks.
There are eleven coupons that include a homework pass, eat lunch with the teacher, sit with a friend, free pencil, extra computer time and two favorites: use pen all day and a FREE answer on an assignment!
These coupons can set some students up for success right away! Maybe they're not in full swing from summer and really need an answer on an assignment so they don't feel frustrated or maybe they're not having a good day and want to sit next to a friend. The coupons give them choice and leverage to start our school year!
You know they'll all use that free homework pass that first week of school!
I created these coupons for "back to school", but without the cover on top of the book, these coupons could be used all year!
Don't forget to fill up those wish lists for the Back to School Sale that starts tomorrow! Up to 28% off=GREAT SAVINGS!
*If you link up, you will get these coupon books to welcome your students back emailed to you!
Link up any idea that motivates you or your students-if it motivates you, it motivates them! No idea is too small or too big! :O)
** Don't forget to grab my button and this post when you link up.
While we're here, let's share some blog love and "motivate" each other by following/commenting at least one person's post! :O) I can't wait to read everyone's ideas!

What a great idea! I give my kids a coupon book as a Christmas present, but never thought about the "free answer on an assignment." That is brilliant and the kids would love it.

Love the idea of using a pen all day, because that is a special treat in my class(only because they steal my pens by accident...always) & the free answer to an assignment. I bet everyone will want that one! Thanks for hostin' the linky, Joanne! You're the best!

I really love the Welcome Back coupon Book! Such a fantastic idea for the beginning of the year! One thing I do to motivate students is make "Yeah for You" calls home to parents as often as I can. When I see someone doing something kind for someone else in the classroom, I pick up the phone and call their parents immediately! The kids LOVE to hear me telling their parents something wonderful about them! Their faces just light up! I'd live a copy of your coupon book if you're willing to share!!!

I'm new here--- is "linking up" different than following a blog?
