I know this book has been blogged about before, but I want to share how I plan to use it this week. The Best of Times is a creative book to teach times tables through strategies, rhymes, and colorful, funny illustrations.
Perfect to talk about the multiplication properties!

This is a real world example of commutative property using chocolate chip cookies!
We made a foldable for their interactive notebooks. I used the template from the incredible Erin at I'm Lovin' Lit!

I also plan to use these anchor charts from Step into Second Grade as a quick review tomorrow. I will have all four (two shown) of the properties hung around the room and allow students to write an example on each chart.
With all of these activities my students should have a better grasp of multiplication properties!

I don't think I have this book. I'm going to have to look to see if our library has it for next week. We will be looking at multiplication toward the end of next week. Thanks for the suggestion and the freebie.
