Linking up with the cuties Amanda & Stacia for their Must Read Mentor Text party! This week's topic is math!
This is the newest math book to my classroom library: The Book of Perfectly Perilous Math: 24 Death-Defying Challenges.
There's 24 math challenges in this book with work space to solve each problem. There are math stories, a problem to solve, and then a math lab.
This book was purchased for me by one of my students at our school book fair.
It has neat activities, word problems, and scenarios to solve. This would be great for early finishers or used as an enrichment center. Each problem has step by step solutions, so even if your students can't solve the problems, it would be a nice introduction to some higher level math concepts.
This book would probably be a better fit for middle school, but there's a few problems I can work out with my class (pretty challenging concepts) and I will use a few for enrichment. It would also make a great gift for a young mathematician since there's space to work the problems out in the book.

Ooooo, I really like this! You always have the best book treasures!! I have never seen these! I am definitely checking them out! I love the look of them!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up my dear Joanne!

Is there a zombie question? This looks like a great book, I think I would be able to use it for some of my early finishers that need a little extra challenge!
